WHAT WE DO TO SUPPORT THE 4 DIGITAL RESIDENCY WINNERS OF THE ANNUAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Once the call for proposals is launched in January and the 4 projects that will be supported are chosen by April, we accompany the artists’ creative process with 7 online collective meetings (April, May, June, July, September, October, November) attended by all the selected artists, the tutors and all the project promoters and residency holders, in order to get well acquainted with the research projects and monitor their progress, also through collective discussion on the multimedia diary drafted by each company, where the criticalities and potentialities of the ongoing artistic processes are collected.
We follow each of the projects individually and remotely, dividing the executive responsibility between residency holders. Our aim is to help the artists solve specific management problems that may arise during the realisation of their projects.
We offer each project a financial contribution of 4,500 euros + VAT + accommodation and work space for a potential in person residency period.
We provide each project with a digital performance expert who will tutor the various development stages of the artistic projects, as well as offer opportunities for theoretical elaboration and useful practical tools.
We experiment with the models devised by the artists during the development phases.
We broadcast the projects through press releases and interviews, as well as on our social media.
We amplify the visibility of digital content produced, especially that which needs in-progress dissemination that is functional to the implementation of the project itself.
We organise a ‘Digital Residency Week’ in November, a moment of public visibility for the 4 winning projects that has the structure of a proper online festival within which the 4 projects are presented, at whatever stage they may have gotten to – not necessarily as complete works but as a step in the creative process.
We promote the production process of each winning project by encouraging new stakeholders to contribute to the production of one or all four projects.
We encourage awareness of other finalist projects reported by the Jury, hoping that other entities in the residency system will choose to join this network, entering to support other reported projects.
